Description of the Course

This 4-day course introduces the principles and practical applications of Virtual Reality (VR) and Extended Reality (XR), designed for individuals and organizations aiming to explore and create immersive digital experiences through hands-on experience and expert-led training. VR and XR technologies are transforming industries by enabling immersive simulations, interactive training, and enhanced user experiences. This course covers the basics of VR, Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (MR), with applications in gaming, education, healthcare, and product design, using tools like Unity, Unreal Engine, and VR headsets.

Participants will learn the complete process of creating a VR/XR experience: understanding hardware and software, designing 3D environments, implementing interactivity, and testing on VR devices. Key topics include 3D modeling basics, VR/XR development workflows, user interface design for immersive environments, and optimizing performance for VR applications. Attendees will work on real-world projects, such as building a simple VR simulation or an AR application, to apply their skills.

Tentative Agenda:

Day 1: Introduction, VR/XR fundamentals, hardware overview, demo of tools

Day 2: 3D modeling, environment design, introduction to Unity/Unreal Engine

Day 3: Adding interactivity, user experience design, testing on VR devices

Day 4: Optimization, best practices, final project showcase

After four days, participants will leave with a functional VR/XR prototype, a solid understanding of immersive technology tools, and the confidence to design, develop, and deploy basic VR/XR experiences for various applications.
