The Fund for Innovation and Technology Development (FITD) and the Center for Technology Transfer and Innovations – INNOFEIT, today signed a cooperation agreement aimed at advancing the digital transformation and innovation capacity of Macedonian companies and public sector organizations.
Through this collaboration, FITD will co-finance the INNOFEIT EDIH project (European Digital Innovation Hub), which serves as a leading platform for digital transformation, innovation, and technological development in North Macedonia. The project will be implemented by a consortium led by INNOFEIT, with the goal of providing strategic support to micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) and public sector organizations, helping enhance their competitiveness through the adoption of advanced digital technologies.
“This agreement marks a new chapter in our joint efforts to build a sustainable, competitive, and technologically advanced economy by combining the development policies, infrastructure, and expertise of FITD and INNOFEIT. Today, we open new horizons for our companies to access cutting-edge technologies, training, and funding — everything they need to grow and remain competitive. I believe that through such partnerships, we are laying the foundations for a new, digital, innovative, and European economy,” stated Nikola Dodov, Acting Director of the Fund for Innovation and Technology Development.
“With today’s agreement, national co-financing for INNOFEIT EDIH has been secured for 2025 and 2026, demonstrating our country’s commitment to digital transformation, support of innovation, and increasing the competitiveness of local companies. This support from the government is a testament to its vision and recognition of INNOFEIT’s capacities and its role in driving innovation and the development of digital services in our society. I extend my sincere gratitude to FITD for their support of this project,” said Prof. Dimitar Tashkovski, Director of INNOFEIT.
“Our Center for Technology Transfer and Innovation has once again proven itself as a leader in the Macedonian innovation ecosystem by securing the project to establish the first EDIH in the country. FITD’s co-financing is essential for the smooth implementation of project activities and the achievement of its objectives toward the digital and green transformation of our society. Establishing infrastructure such as an EDIH is a major step toward aligning with European best practices for innovation development and technology transfer,” stated Prof. Vladimir Atanasovski, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies (FEEIT).
As part of its mission, INNOFEIT EDIH offers services such as:
Pre-investment technology testing – access to laboratories and digital tools for experimenting with innovative technologies;
